Kintsugi: A Healing Journey Workshop

Join Wendy and Amanda for a unique, hands-on experience where the theme is inspired by the Japanese art of celebrating our imperfections. Kintsugi is the Japanese art form of repairing broken pottery by mending it and painting the repairs with gold. The piece is stronger and more beautiful than before it was broken. The philosophy of Kintsugi values imperfections, viewing them as something to celebrate, not disguise. we are stronger and more beautiful having been broken.

What to Expect:

Wendy and Amanda will share background on how they developed their own version of Kintsugi, telling their story of addiction and loving an addict. You will choose your own piece of pottery, break and mend it, and then finish it with gold leaf. Throughout the experience, you’ll be guided through a healing journey of reflection and artistic expression. Wendy and Amanda will also provide a thoughtfully designed Kintsugi journal they created. You’ll leave the workshop with your restored Kintsugi piece and a journal to continue reflecting on your personal healing journey.
