This month, ABFE will celebrate Giving Tuesday where we push our mission forward in advocating for responsive and transformative investments in Black communities. ABFE is a membership-based organization that partners and provides support to foundations, individuals, and nonprofits by providing professional development, and technical assistance to aid in the response to issues of equality, diversity, and inclusion. This Giving Tuesday, we are reflecting on the current relevancy of ABFE's first imperative as it guides our work in the philanthropic sector to ensure the well-being of Black communities.

• BUILD AGENCY. Increase investments in Black-led organizations that connect individuals and families to a wide array of resources and build power in our communities to lead substantive change.

These imperatives were created amidst a global pandemic and pestilence of anti-Black racism and we now seek to highlight the first imperative amidst a pivotal election. We are reminded that we are in a marathon, not a sprint and all of us in philanthropy must be in it for the long haul.
