Our partner, Lek Chailert, has been contacted about more than 1,200 monkeys that are currently in urgent need of long-term sanctuary and care after being intercepted from a suspected wildlife trafficking operation in Laos. Among them are mothers with babies, pregnant females, elderly monkeys, and frightened young animals who have endured unimaginable trauma.
Following an agreement with the Lao government, Save Elephant Foundation has been authorized to assist in their rescue and develop a protected forest sanctuary where these monkeys can finally live safely, free from trafficking and exploitation.
Creating a permanent refuge for so many vulnerable animals will require extensive resources, infrastructure, veterinary care, and ongoing support.
Donate today to help give them the second chance they deserve.
