Life was grim for children living with HIV/AIDS and their families in 1996.

This is why Allies in Hope, formerly AIDS Foundation Houston, began Camp Hope, a week-long annual summer camp for those living with HIV ages 7-16. Campers experienced arts, crafts, swimming, games, and outdoor activities in a safe space, during an otherwise challenging time and at no cost to their families.

For kids living with HIV, there is nothing like Camp Hope.

This year will mark our 28th year of Camp Hope from July 15-19. While the advances in medication and treatment have almost completely eliminated the possibility of mother-to-infant transmission and changed the life projections for youth living with HIV, there is still a major problem with new cases of HIV, particularly among teenagers. The epidemic is far from over.

Here's how your gift makes a difference:

  • $500 safely sleeps one camper in their cabin all week
  • $250 feeds a camper with nutritious meals while away from their families
  • $100 gives a snuggly, commemorative teddy bear to 10 campers
  • $50 helps cover tie-dye supplies for t-shirts for arts and crafts days

You will give our campers an unforgettable and stigma-free camp experience. Thank you for making your gift to Camp Hope today.
