Belongó's free educational programs make a significant impact, reaching over 2,200 students annually. The Afro Latin Jazz Academy of Music (ALJAM) provides free afterschool music education to New York City public school students. The Global Rhythms in Our Tribe (GRIOT) program focuses on pan-Latin percussion, teaching rhythms, techniques, music history, and cultural context. Our audition-based Fat Cats Latin jazz orchestra offers young musicians from all five boroughs weekly rehearsals and performance opportunities, fostering their musical growth and talent.
