We are the Hard Hat Squad, a group of 4 women including Dora Anim, Ronnie Watson, Maranda Ater, & Alicia Berry. We come together through work and community, but mostly because we genuinely enjoy working together and jumping into things that matter. We share a common passion for teamwork and strengthening our local community
We chose to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Indiana because we believe in Habitat’s mission and we’re proud to support a local organization that helps local families achieve safe, stable, and affordable housing.
To our Squad, home is where you can kick off your shoes, take a deep breath, and feel like you belong.Housing means security, comfort, and having a solid foundation, and we know how life-changing it can be when individuals and families have a place where they can rest, grow, and dream a little bigger.
When it comes to building, we’re mostly first-timers with a “we’ll figure it out” attitude. If we had to describe our construction skills in one sentence, it would be:
“We may not know all the tools yet, but we’re ready to learn, work hard, and laugh along the way.”
Through this Women Build experience, we hope to get our hands dirty, learn something new, and make a real difference. We’re excited to learn hands-on skills, work alongside some awesome people, and walk away feeling tired, proud, and glad we said yes.
We can’t do this alone. By supporting our team, you’re helping local families move closer to safe, affordable housing and making this work possible. Every donation helps turn a house into a home and a build day into something that truly matters.
Please consider supporting our team and helping us reach our fundraising goal. Together, we’re building more than a house — we’re building hope (and probably a few sore muscles).
One word that describes our team: Empowered
What we are most excited about on the build day: Putting our hands to work for our community
