Each year, The BRS Women's Club, an auxiliary unit of BRPOA, funds an educational award for a graduating senior from Louisa High School. This Career Pathway Award is for any senior continuing with post graduate training in technical, trade school, or college. This award is unique as it supports the trades. Applicants may be pursuing career certifications in technical work like:

  • Welding
  • HVAC
  • Electrical
  • Plumbing
  • Auto Mechanics
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Cosmetology
  • and more!

Over the years our scholars have attended Piedmont Virginia Community College, Virginia Tech, and Virginia Commonwealth University.

The applications and award decisions are processed by the Louisa Education Foundation, a 501C3 nonprofit, in Louisa County. This year they have hired their first executive director to guide this growing nonprofit will applications, fund investments, and coordination with the high school's educational leaders.

Traditionally, this award is funded through bake sales, basket raffles, and our July 4th cake walk which we will continue to do. Now our full BRPOA membership is able to make a secure donation online or through check to support this educational award, increasing our impact for local students.

Donations are tax deductible through LEF and they will provide acknowledgement. Giving by January 30, 2026 supports our educational award for the Class of 2026.

Your generosity helps open doors for hardworking students ready to build their future and strengthen our community.
