Jordan Denari Duffner is an author and scholar of Muslim-Christian relations, interreligious dialogue, and Islamophobia. She joins us to discuss her latest book "Islamophobia: What Christians Should Know (and Do) about Anti-Muslim Discrimination". She is also the author of "Finding Jesus among Muslims: How Loving Islam Makes Me a Better Catholic."
Jordan is currently pursuing a PhD in Theological and Religious Studies at Georgetown University. A former Fulbright scholar, she is also an associate of the Bridge Initiative, where she previously worked from 2014 to 2017 as a research fellow.
Jordan’s writing on Islam and Catholicism has appeared in numerous outlets including TIME, The Washington Post, and America. In 2016, Jordan penned the Bridge Initiative report, “Danger and Dialogue: American Catholics Perceptions and Portrayals of Islam,” which included the first nationwide survey of Catholics’ views of Islam. She has also published book chapters in academic and lay publications, including Overcoming Orientalism (forthcoming) and A Pope Francis Lexicon (2018).
Committed to public theology and religious literacy, Jordan serves as a frequent media commentator and consultant. She has appeared as an analyst on news programs on BBC and Al-Jazeera, television and radio interview shows, and documentaries. Jordan has given numerous talks and webinars on to diverse audiences.

Hurunnessa Fariad is the Director of Outreach for Multi-Faith Neighbor’s Network where she works to build mutual trust and respect among clerics through civic engagement, authentic relationships, and honest dialogue. Ms. Fariad also is intentional in making sure women’s voices are heard and amplified. Ms. Fariad serves as the Secretary of the Board of Directors at Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy, Member of the Board of Directors of Lutheran Social Services National Capital Area, Member of the Board of Directors for Women for Afghan Women, Member of the Fairfax County Faith and Equity Committee, and involved with many other faith-based organizations. Ms. Fariad is the founder & Music Director of America's first Mosque Youth Choir, The ADAMS BEAT Choir. Ms. Fariad is the founder and co-host of the Sister Act Podcast along with co-hosts Dr. Sabrina Dent and Rabbi Susan Shankman. Conversations centered around shame, stigma, rights, and social justice issues and how our faiths address these topics. Ms. Fariad is a former child refugee from Afghanistan and currently resides in Sterling, Virginia with her 4 daughters.
