Remembering Laura Segura

Laura Segura was a fierce leader and champion for our community's most vulnerable families.

The entire Monarch family stands in solidarity with our beloved community to honor Laura's legacy. Laura was a first generation immigrant with deep roots in the Pajaro Valley. She came from a very close-knit family and was the proud mama of two amazing women whom her spirit continues to live within. Laura dedicated her professional career to issues of social justice and equity, and she led with a power and compassion that was palpable to all who knew her.

We grieve her loss and are firmly rooted in our commitment to honor Laura's memory by continuing our work to support survivors and families & end violence and abuse in Santa Cruz County.
