2023 CHAMPIONS OF HOPE LUNCHEON

Dear Friend of SERJobs,

We invite you to join us for SERJobs’ Champions of Hope Luncheon, to be held on Friday, June 9, 2023, at The Ballroom at Bayou Place. We have the pleasure of honoring The Morales Memorial Foundation for supporting SERJobs over the past 57 years. Angie and Felix Morales started their station, KLVL-AM, in Pasadena and went on air on May 5, 1950. The radio station, “La Voz Latina,” became the first Spanish-language radio station to cover news for the Gulf Coast area and soon established a reputation for community service. Apart from various news, education, and music programs, the Morales’ and KLVL radio produced such programs as Yo necesito trabajo (“I need a job”), during which unemployed persons called in and received job referrals from area employers. This radio program became the start of SERJobs, founded in 1965.

We believe that SERJobs is worthy of our enthusiastic support. Almost no other organization can turn every donated dollar into seven more. These much-needed funds help to support SERJobs’ mission to transform the lives of individuals through education, skill-based training, employment, and long-term financial stability.
