Street Dog Hero's 2026 Portland Summer Camp

Bend and Portland-based non-profit Street Dog Hero is excited to announce the launch of our Summer Camp in Portland!

Street Dog Hero serves dogs in need around the world and their communities through rescue, adoption, wellness, spay/neuter, and education. Education is one of the most important things we can all do to help make a difference in the lives of dogs in need. We strive to spread awareness of the issues facing street dogs and the importance of the humane treatment of animals in all communities we touch. This summer, we will have a half day camp for children ages 6-12 to participate in a humane education themed camp centered around dogs. Children will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about challenges dogs face in our communities and around the world and how people of all ages are helping
  • Engage in animal-themed creative and arts-based activities, baking, games, and story-telling
  • Learn all about how dogs (and cats) communicate, humane pet care, training, and safety around dogs, and chances to interact with special canine guests
  • Have time for outdoor free play

Dates: August 17 - 20 (Mon.-Thurs.); 9:30am - 1:30pm

**Bring packed lunch from home. Morning snack provided (bring additional snack if needed). **
