Chapman-Richards Cares is partnering with The Other Side Village to help 450+ formerly chronically homeless adults live sober, self-reliant, and housed at the Village. Please join us in raising money through donations to provide housing and essential resources to this new, innovative, and beautiful addition to our community.
John Lindgren is embarking on a cross-country walk in support of CR Cares, starting April 1, 2025, at Jacob Riis Park in Manhattan, NYC. Covering 3,158 miles, he aims to reach Portland-Seashore, Oregon, by early July 2025 to raise funds for The Other Side Village. His journey will follow a Northern American route, passing through the Great Lakes region and eventually connecting to the historic Lewis and Clark Trail.
John, a former Airborne Ranger in the United States Army, is a proud father of eight and grandfather to 28. He thrives on challenges and is eager to raise awareness about homelessness while securing funds to help provide stability for those in need.
It takes a village to build the Village. The Village is a 430 small home, sober community with onsite employment, medical and mental health services, and a community of mentors with lived experience. The Village is designed to address the root causes of chronic homelessness - not just by providing housing but by creating a pathway to purpose, self-reliance, and dignity.
