19 Years of Connecting Young Creators is True Star’s fundraiser party to raise funds for its job training programs that teach youth how to create, develop, and market digital content on platforms that empower them to forge their own paths. The evening will include segments that showcase the impact that True Star has had on Chicago youth and its alumni, and how the organization's corporate partnerships allow it to provide youth with dynamic work opportunities.

The event will feature alumni and student reflections, as well as a fireside chat with two media and advertising icons, Louis Carr, President of Sales for BET, and Danielle Austen, CEO of Fluent360. Carr is a 2023 inductee into the Advertising Hall of Fame, and Austen was recently named CAF 2023 Ad Woman of the Year. We will enjoy a candid conversation about the importance of young people gaining early access to training in digital media and marketing, then hear how these two trailblazers are paving the way for creatives of color in the advertising industry. 

A scholarship will be awarded to a deserving True Star creative, along with a high-tech equipment bundle to further their talent and entrepreneurial pursuits. There will also be live entertainment by True Star’s Lo-Fi artist Rahkii.
