United for Good: Community Relief Fund

The United For Good: Community Relief Fund will deliver accelerated support to people facing everyday crises and to local nonprofits strained by reductions in public funding and a rising demand for services.

It will also expand the reach of the 211 Helpline, which connects thousands to vital community resources—from housing and food access to mental health and family support.

Like Lydia, who was dedicated to helping children learn, but illness forced her to resign from her teaching job. Constant layoffs made finding new work nearly impossible, so she stayed afloat working at a local bakery. When that job ended, she did what she’s always done: problem-solve, lean on family, stretch every dollar, and use credit carefully while searching for stability. Thanks to community support through our United For Good fund, we could cover her rent during this critical period, and now she’s back where she belongs as a teacher—a meaningful step forward—but like many in transition, she faced a financial gap she couldn’t bridge alone.

Donate today to help our neighbors and nonprofits in Central Maryland.
