Help Us Bring a Little Movie Magic to Families Who Need It Most

You’re invited to be part of a heartwarming initiative that’s all about joy, connection, and giving struggling families a break from the daily grind. Together with the Anne Arundel County Partnership for Children, Families and Youth, we’re treating local families in United Way’s Family Stability program to a night at the movies—something many haven’t been able to enjoy in a long time.

For these families, a trip to the theater isn’t just a fun outing—it’s a luxury they can’t afford. When they’re juggling rent, groceries, and other essentials, things like movie tickets, snacks, and transportation to the theatre just don’t make the cut. These are parents making tough choices every day, and kids miss out on the carefree moments so many of us take for granted.

That’s where you come in. A donation of just $35 covers everything for one person: a movie ticket, snacks, and a ride to and from the theater. It’s a small gesture that creates space for joy, connection, and a break from everyday stress—something every family needs, but not every family can easily access.

Our goal is to sponsor 100 individuals in honor of United Way’s century of service—but we’d love to go beyond that. Every extra sponsorship means another child giggling through a movie, another parent sharing a joyful moment with their kids, and another family reminded that their community sees them and cares.
