A Community Lunch for Domestic Violence Awareness Month
May is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Across Australia, communities come together to raise awareness of domestic and family violence, to call for justice, and to ensure women and families impacted have the support they need to move forward. Awareness starts the conversation.
Recovery changes everything. 1 in 4 Australian women are affected by domestic violence. Most never report it. Most never access shelter. And 9 in 10 never receive the long-term recovery support they need to truly rebuild their lives. We call them The Missing Majority and they are right here in our community in Mona Vale and across the Northern Beaches.
Resetting. Rebuilding. Quietly carrying on.
Recovery is prevention. If we do not repair, we will repeat.
When women are supported to rebuild their health, finances, confidence, parenting capacity and future direction, we break cycles of abuse that can span generations. That is the work of the Women’s Resilience Centre.
This May, our community is stepping up. Join Us for an inspiring and purposeful community lunch, proudly co-hosted by the Mona Vale Chamber of Commerce and the Mona Vale Hotel.
